These badges are made from granite and travertine and differ only in durability. While, as the manufacturer says, the badge out of travertine will last about 300 years, the one out of granite even 3.200 years!
Because there are today (2010) no cellphones with Chip-Detection, the information can be loaded via Internet. The internet address is also displayed on the badge.
Very interesting to me. But I can hardly imagine that a common tomb will last 3.200 years. And a bit unbelievable to me is whether the chip will work this long time. And who will then be able to retrieve the information? But displaying a web-address will surely work for the next 10 to 20 years. I wonder what will come next. Maybe RFID-Chips in mailboxes?
