Start Energy Redoxflow-Battery, a break-through?
English (United Kingdom)
Nearly silently the Fraunhofer ICT developes a storing technique which, at least in stationary range, cab replace conventional Lead-Acid-Batteries: The Redoxflow-Battery. For that two liquid electrolytes flow through a membrane and generate electric power. The amount of  stored energy depends on the size of the tanks. So it is easy scalable.
Combined with solar panels on the roof of a House or a wind generator, can so a autonomous power supply be realized. But also linked to a power network can these accus deliver their stored energy over decades to the network. So can for example the morning-peaks be absorbed and following the power plants dimensioned smaller.
In the meantime even a use in electric cars is thinkable.
